Regional Kiwibank Local Hero Medalists include Mel Bourke of EQC Fix

The regional judging is complete and we can now name this years Kiwibank Local Hero medal recipients includes Mel Bourke, a driving force behind EQC Fix and championing the rights of earthquake insurance claimants.

The Kiwibank Local Hero award recognises those whose selflessness and determination has made a difference in the community. It provides a special opportunity to all New Zealanders, who have witnessed or experienced the contributions made by this years medal recipients, to say thank you, we appreciate what you are doing to make our communities better.

We will be contacting all of our medal recipients over the next week or so and confirming arrangements for them to attend one of 16 regional presentation ceremonies across New Zealand between mid-November and mid-December.

The awarding of a Kiwibank Local Hero medal is a special acknowledgement so can only be made once. Those who have previously been awarded a medal and have been successful again, will be eligible for consideration for the national Kiwibank New Zealand Local Hero Award along with this years medal recipients.

Their continued contribution as a successful nominee as also been noted below.
